Joyss

Jean-Charles aka Joyss is an actor, who shares a huge love story with dance. He is well known for his multi-artistic experience.

He originally comes from Hip-hop culture, where the mission of every dancer is to create their own style while respecting all inspirations. (What does this mean, “inspirations”? Maybe while respecting the traditions?)

His purpose is not to dance blues or swing with “modern moves”… He just comes with his own experience, challenges himself and tries to level up exactly like the old school dancers did before him.

Through his numerous teaching and training courses all over the world, his famous performances like the “Drunk dance on Take Five”, his 1st place in solo Charleston at ILHC 2015 in Washington DC(…), he is today one of the most accomplished French figures on the international dance scene.

Sabou

Sabou’s love affair with street Afro dances brings her to Ghana every year to deepen her understanding of the music, history and heritage, foundations and the connection with others.  This has become key to her appreciation of the culture and her relationship with her own dance and body. She promises to bring that same energy  to Brussels!  For her, dance has been the greatest school of life, and now she aims to help you find, embrace, cherish and express your  uniqueness, feel more empowered to be who you are and express yourself with confidence through the art of dancing. She is looking forward to sharing with us all thatshe knows about Azonto dance, music, culture and heritage.ore specifically, she will teach us how to put more of our feelings into expression, broaden our horizons to new ways of moving and feeling, help us fall in love again with our body, (re)connect to the beautiful art of dancing and most importantly, exchange with one another.

Collin

Collin has been dancing since 2015, fell in love with the blues and spent his time developing his skills as a dancer and musician. Different elements of his other passions all come together in blues. Dancing, drumming and the use of rhythm comes naturally to him. As a physical actor, he will give us tools to explore playful ways to express ourselves. In various ways, including drumming and dancing, rhythm has been a big part of his life. He believes that there is rhythm in everything, from the seasons to the way we walk and of course on the dancefloor! There are many elements when it comes to playing drums or any type of percussion, such as creating a foundation for others, communicating and improvising. He would like to bring all these elements to the Blues Remix. Let’s get groovy!

Koben

Renowned Brussels-based multi-instrumentalist, music teacher and composer, Koben will bring you the joy of blues jamming and song-writing. We remixed for you two memorable classes with him.. If you are looking for new skills both as a dancer or a musician or you simply would like to enhance your musical knowledge, he will be your person at the Blues Remix. As a freelance musician, he has played on many stages and concert halls, in Belgium and abroad. From 2017 onwards, he mainly focused on composing music and has since written numerous works for various bands and orchestras. He even released his debut album internationally and wrote his first soundtrack for a film. He also created the Schuman School of Music in 2018 where he teaches drums, bass, music theory, songwriting, and band coaching.
